The Civil Committee for Climate Crisis and Disaster Response and People Power Party lawmaker Kim Hak-yong jointly held a debate on the 6th at the National Assembly Hall on the topic of ‘Direction and tasks of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration’s disaster and safety policy.’


Seok Jae-wang, chairman of the Civilian Committee for Climate Crisis and Disaster Response, said, “The current government’s disaster safety policy has effectively responded to the climate crisis through 4th industry technology, collaboration with the private and local governments, and disaster system innovation.” At the same time, he emphasized the need for communication and revision of disaster-related laws tailored to the public's perspective in order to minimize social division caused by disaster conflicts and prevent confusion at disaster sites.


In his congratulatory address, Lee Gap-san, chairman of the Civil Society Organizations Association, emphasized the importance of the role of civil society organizations in disaster response. Lee Yong-rae, a member of the People Power Life Safety Support Special Committee, made suggestions on building a safe society, and Park Hyun-seok, president of the Korea Fire Equipment Association, emphasized improving systems for fire prevention and establishing a safety culture.
